Golf Course Operator
Summary/Objective Under general supervision performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties necessary for the proper upkeep and maintenance of the golf course and grounds.
Essential Functions
Operate mowers and all other equipment needed for the proper performance of daily scheduled duties.
Mow greens, tees, aprons and all approaches to greens and fairways.
Mow roughs, rake sand traps, aerify greens, vericut tees and operate fertilizer spreaders.
Assist with duties such as planting and/or removal of trees and shrubs, laying sod, trimming trees, etc.
Cut weeds, edge sidewalks and cart paths.
Assist with setting up for events and offer assistance to users of the facilities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a field position. Exposed to chemicals, uneven surfaces and extreme temperatures.
Physical Demands
Use various equipment including mower, weedeater, carts. Water greens in extreme temperatures.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Work hours vary by season.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent education or experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Must have or attain a chemical applicators license within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- One or more years’ municipal golf course experience.
