Library Board Agenda


Board Meeting Date and Location:   October 25, 2006  11:00a.m.  Board Room

 

1.      Call to Order. 

2.      Roll Call. 

3.      Approval of the minutes of  August 30, 2006. 

4.      Public comments:  The purpose of the public comments section of the agenda is for members of the public to speak to the Library Board on any subject not scheduled on the regular agenda. The Library Board shall make no decision or action, except to direct the Library Director to take action or to schedule the matter for Library Board discussion at a later date. Those addressing the Library Board are requested to state their names and place of residence. Time allotted to each speaker will be 5 minutes. Maximum time for public comments will be 15 minutes.

7.      Business.     

      A. Introduction of new Board member Terri Zimmerman.

      B.  Election of officers: Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

 

8.      New Business.

      A.  Consider items not known about prior to posting the Agenda.

 

9.      Librarian’s Report. 

A.     Eight new computers are expected to be delivered on October 23rd.

B.     Mrs. Lumly and Mrs. Skaggs attended a workshop in Oklahoma City on September  27th. Mrs. Stephens will attend a workshop in Bartlesville on October 23rd. Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Lumly will attend a workshop in Oklahoma City on October 30th.

C.     Dayna Dunbar presented  an author program at 6:30p.m. on October 3rd.

D.     The part-time genealogy position has not yet been filled.

E.      The Library will be closed November 23-25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

F.      The Library will need a $4000 server upgrade in the next few months that was not budgeted.

G.     A Board member complained to City Hall about the furniture in the young adult section that had been in place for over six months. Mr. Freeman will have a meeting to discuss the complaints.

H.  Monthly expenses.
