Library Board Agenda
Board Meeting Date and Location: February 28, 2007 11:00a.m. Board Room
1. Call to Order.
2. Roll Call.
3. Approval of the minutes of November 29, 2006.
4. Public comments: The purpose of the public comments section of the agenda is for members of the public to speak to the Library Board on any subject not scheduled on the regular agenda. The Library Board shall make no decision or action, except to direct the Library Director to take action or to schedule the matter for Library Board discussion at a later date. Those addressing the Library Board are requested to state their names and place of residence. Time allotted to each speaker will be 5 minutes. Maximum time for public comments will be 15 minutes.

A. Consider items not known about prior to posting the Agenda.
9. Librarian’s Report.
a. Eight new computers have been delivered and set up. The patrons love that there
hasn’t been much of a waiting line because of the new computers.
b.Anita is no longer with us. Bessie on extended leave and Carolyn is on extended
sick leave.
c. The genealogy hours have changed to Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and
Fridays are 9 am to 5 pm. Wednesdays 9am to 1 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 2
pm. This will allow people who work during the week to do their genealogy on
Saturdays.
d. The Library has had the servers upgraded to SQL 2005 and the library system to
Polaris 3.2. The staff will be taking some classes necessary in order to best utilize
Polaris.
e. An assessment of the library budget is being done to see how the monies have
been spent so far and will work toward assessing needs for next fiscal year.
Assessments are being done in the library. Adult book collection, Young Adult
Book Collection, Children’s book collection, Music & CD collection, Audio
Book collection, Video & DVD collection,
f. This is the year of the Centennial and the library is having some author signing
events such as Lonnie McGee-February 17, Carol Johnson-March 17, and Norm
Rourke-April 21st, to help celebrate the centennial. We are in the process of
seeing what other events may have been in the planning for this. We are
consulting with the Oklahoma Dept. of Libraries on this matter, also.
g. There is a new Children’s Librarian, Sharon Bastel, and has already started a
storytime.
